Foundation Accounts
Gifts to UMBC are managed by the University System of Maryland Foundation (USM Foundation) for the benefit of the University. The foundation was founded in 1979 as a not-for-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status separate from the University System of Maryland. The UMBC Foundation, Inc., is a registered trade name of the USM Foundation.
Each year, staff from the USM Foundation visits campus to conduct training on using these accounts. If you are an administrator or authorized signer on a foundation account, we strongly recommend that you attend this training. To get information on upcoming training, or for questions, contact Institutional Advancement Operations.

Scholarships
OIA works closely with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to administer some scholarships connected to philanthropic gifts. If you have questions regarding the eligibility requirements of a particular scholarship or connecting with donors, including student “thank you” messages, please contact our Donor Relations Team.
